The Project
The "Azibuye Emasisweni" music documentation project was established in 2001 at the Silethukukhanya High School in the Dukuduku Forests in the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park. The project has been extended into Usuthu Gorge (located at the Ndumo Environmental Education Centre), which is located at the confluence of the, KwaZulu Natal, Swaziland and Mozambican borders.The project is run as a partnership between the University of Natal, School of Music (Dr Angela Impey) and the University of Oslo, Department of Anthropology (Professor Odd Are Berkaak).
